The Serious Fraud Office

This article was pretty funny.

The Serious Fraud Office has shifted the focus of its investigation into the Bernie Madoff investment scandal from the UK arm of his empire to some of the feeder funds that channelled investments to the multibillion-pound fraudster.
"The Serious Fraud Office"? That sounds like a bit from a Monty Python sketch.

When I read "Serious Fraud Office", I thought "The Serious Fraud Office is the part of the government responsible for helping insiders commit serious fraud."

LOL! It does, doesn't it? But if it was a Python sketch, it would probably have a name more like: The Ministry of Things Bad, Naughty Bureaucrat Persons Do.

Ha!

What about the PFI - Public Private Finance initiatives?

They are a legal way to rip off the government or rather the tax-payers.

A private company is asked to build a hospital by the government. They then go to the bank and ask for a loan. The bank gives them a loan at a HIGH INTEREST RATE, because there is risk that the project may not be completed.

After the hospital is built, the private company goes back to the bank and says the risk is over and can they have a loan at a LOWER INTEREST RATE.

But the government still gets billed for the HIGH-INTEREST RATE.

I believe the clowns in the government were told about this SCAM, but said there must be an incentive for private money!

Ha! All in all, the difference in interest rates can amount up to

60 MILLION POUNDS

That is not government money - IT IS TAX-PAYERS MONEY.

Talk about pork-belly projects to favoured insiders.

What a scam!

The government ought to declare the PFI schemes as a FRAUD. Maybe by Act of Parliament if necessary.

STOP ALL EXISTING PFI contracts as a scam. Stop new ones.

The government clowns must have been asleep at the wheel to allow these PFIs through. Or worse.

STUPID OR WICKED. Your choice.

Interesting information about PFI.

I doubt the State would do anything to change it, we should stop believing in the fantasy that somehow bad government will reform itself.
