Who, Pencil?

I have some 20+ year old pencils. I have some newer pencils.

For the new pencils, the point frequently breaks when I sharpen it.

For the old pencils, they sharpen without difficulty.

Nobody knows how to make a pencil anymore.

FSK,
Perhaps the pencil's mechanical properties change with age. Have you considered that?

Or buy a pencil with a harder graphite such as 2H rather than the typical HB type.

Another good observation. Most people would not notice or care.

It's another example of planned obsolescence - an outrageous absurd human invention.

You could call it the economy working backwards - encouraging less quality, fear, more debt, diseases etc.

This becomes a necessity when the economic system requires perpetual growth but people have already all important things and more..

It is even more obvious in printers today - as I have posted on my blog.

Keep up the honest and good work!
